We’re passionate about empowering voices through action, art and policy.
What is CAMPA?
CAMPA (the Collegiate Association for Modern Policy & the Arts) is a student-run organization that helps college students understand how policy shapes the arts, creative industries, and modern culture. We focus on issues like arts funding, copyright, technology and AI, education, and other policies that directly affect creative work and future careers.
Through research, guest speakers, workshops, and partnerships with real organizations, CAMPA gives students practical exposure to how policy actually works and how it shapes creative careers and communities.
Meet Marko
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Marko founded CAMPA after recognizing a gap at Belmont University: a lack of legal-focused student organizations accessible to students outside of law school. While working as a historic intern at the St. Louis Children’s Choirs, he discovered his passion for policy and arts-centered dialogue after watching his boss advocate for arts funding in Jeff City in late 2024. As both a musician and a debater, Marko became increasingly aware of how powerful ideas are often siloed by discipline. CAMPA emerged from his desire to create a space where art, culture, and civic thought could meaningfully intersect. What began as a simple idea has since grown into a community of students committed to dialogue, creativity, and impact.
